Looking for a great wine to drink in March? Try Bonarda of Rovescala! Every Sunday in March the tiny town of Rovescala, Lombardy, about 50 miles from Milano, celebrates Primavera dei Vini, or Wine in the Springtime. The festival is of great pride in Rovescala since it is one of the only places in Italy that still grows the Bonarda grape. Aged a minimum of 24-months, the Lombardy Bonarda is almost exitnct in Italy, making it all the more special to find alive and well in Rovescala. Rovescala is dark, often compared to a montepulicano, so try it with a great beef dish. In a somewhat dreary month here in the northeast, force some springtime culture via Lombardy and great wine!
