The 3 Items You NEED For Your Italian Holiday

Traveling to Italy this summer and wondering what to pack? Well there are certain non-negotibales. Don't fret over packing EVERY LITTLE THING that you think will make your outfit the most "Italian" look on the street. At the end of the day, you are traveling and you need to be comfortable and transitional. Now, anyone reading this who knows me will probably be thinking "omg she packs more than anyone I know!" and this is true, but there are certain items I never travel without.

1. A great scarf...or a few scarves. The beautiful thing about a scarf is that it doesn't take up

much room, takes your outfit from day to night, and is functiontional! When you walk into a Duomo you often need your shoulders covered, in this instance, you will be glad you had your scarf. And jewelry, while great with a dress, attracts pick-pocketers, scarves can be wrapped up, folded, thrown around, and still elevate a look for dinner. And go ahead, pack a few of them, because scraves won't weigh you down and as we all know, Italians love their scarves.

2. Sunglasses. You CANNOT go to Italy

without sunglasses! Great ones! Italians are obsessed with sunglasses. Another accessory that is both functional and fashionable, invest in a pair of sunnies for your big holiday. I would actually recommend bringing a couple pairs to, like the scarf, mix things up. Have a pair of black aviators, fun round designers (i.e. Prada or D&G), and then a pair you can just throw on when headed to the beach or for a quick walk. Sunglasses are most certainly a non-negotiable.

3. A Backpack. I know, I know, you're thinking ughhhh how could I possible bring a packpack to Italy. Yes, a backpack may be a little of a tourist giveaway but lets face it, you're traveling, you need to think function and backpacks are functional. They make life easy to keep your hands free for documenting your journey and Instagramming your way

across the peninsula. FINALLY backpacks are in fashion. You can getaway with a great looking backpack to throw around your scarf and sunnies in addition to all the random maps, passports, and snacks you have to tote around. Splurge on an expensive Louis or go to target and find something cute but sturdy, as long as it looks good, the backpack won't totally destroy your "I'm trying not to look like a tourist" efforts.

So there you have it! Scarves, Sunnies, and Backpacks, the three items you cannot travel to Italy without. Choose a beautiful silk scarf to transition from day to night. A pair of black sunnies to blend in and embrace your Italian side. And a fashionable backpack to keep your hands free for selfies and gelato!
